Authorities allege that William Spengler, 62, of 191 Lake Road, set his house on fire and shot at first responders as they arrived to fight the blaze. Michael Chiapperini, 43, and Tomasz Kaczowka, 19, firefighters with the West Webster Fire Department, were fatally shot before Spengler shot and killed himself. In all, four first responders were shot and seven houses burned to the ground.
